Create Dynamic Interactive Reports Using Power View

With the release of SQL Server 2012, Microsoft is continuing its progression into Business Intelligence Self-Service. Power View is the newest powerful tool in the end-user (analyst, executives and information workers) arsenal to create dynamic, up-to-the-minute reports. Even more potent is that it can run on multiple platforms. Power View is a feature of the SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services Add-in for SharePoint that provides ad-hoc reporting via the browser utilizing Silverlight. With it, users can easily create and interact with views of data from tabular models based on PowerPivot workbooks, or tabular models deployed to SQL Server 2012 Analysis Services (SSAS).

In this session, we will cover how Power View fits into the Microsoft BI strategy and SharePoint Architecture. We will then cover creating reports. Finally, we will look at how to effectively use this tool and when to use it as opposed to Report Builder

We, at the steering committe feel that there is enough knowledge among all of the attendees that we can help each other by sharing the knowledge.
Our goal is that this time will be use to introduce SharePoint features (tips/tricks), ask questions, answer questions, showcase a technique, etc. by the attendees.
